چکیده

AbstracfThe probability of co-channel interference (PCI) due to multiple correlated log-normal signals is calculated for cellular radio systems operating in Rayleigh fading and lognormal shadowing environment. The effects on the PCI of the correlation between the signals, the standard deviation due to shadowing, the number of interferers, the co-channel protection ratio, and the traffic load is investigated. The results are used for analyzing the optimal channel reuse, the cluster size, and the spectrum efficiency in terms of these parameters.

Power Control and Diversity in Mobile Radio Cellular Systems in the Presence of Ricean Fading and Log-Normal Shadowing

Michele Zorzi, Member, IEEE Abstract— In this paper the performance of a cellular mobile radio system with frequency reuse is evaluated, in terms of outage probability. Deterministic path loss, log-normal shadowing and Ricean fading are accounted for, and the use of diversity and power control is considered in order to enhance the system performance. Both hexagonal and lineal cells are consider...

Diversity Interference Cancellation for GSM/ EDGE using Reduced-Complexity Joint Detection

In cellular mobile radio systems, multiple access is causing interference that limits capacity of the networks. The GSM system with multiple users can be interpreted as MIMO system with a desired user and (cochannel and adjacent channel) interferers. Using a multiple– input multiple–output (MIMO) multiuser joint detection approach for desired signal and one or more (strongest) interferers, netw...

Outage probability analysis for cellular mobile radio with multiple, arbitrary Nakagami interferers - Vehicular Technology Conference, 1995 IEEE 45th

In this study, we derive new expressions for the probability of outage where a mobile unit receives a Nakagami desired signal and multiple, cochannel, independent Nakagami interferers. Unlike some previous results, the expressions are usable when the Nakagami fading parameter, m , is not necessarily an integer. An exact formula is also derived for the outage probability when the desired signal ...

Channel Assignment Problem in Cellular Systems: A New Model and a Tabu Search Algorithm

The channel assignment in cellular systems has the task of planning the reuse of available frequencies in a spectrum efficient way. A classical approach to frequency assignment problems, when applied to the frequency planning of cellular networks, does not enable this task to be performed in an efficient way, since it does not consider the cumulative effect of interferers. In the paper, we prop...
